Piani di Pezzè and Alleghe Lake , 30 min by car from Falcade
Falcade is only 20 minutes by car from Alleghe, a lovely alpine village at the foot of Mount Civetta, where it is nice to walk along the lake shores or to take the cable car up to Piani di Pezzè, a wide plane at 1400 m asl, entrance to the Ski Area Civetta in winter with many rifugios and amusement. In summer it’s a perfect place for families , it has got the Ally Park and the Adventure park for children, or for people who love trekking and biking. It’s the starting point for many excursions in high altitude, as for example to the wonderful Coldai Lake
Museo Vittorino Cazzetta, 30 min from Falcade
Falcade is 40 min by car from Selva di Cadore in the sunny Val Fiorentina. Here there is an interesting Museum to visit, Museo Vittorino Cazzetta, dedicated to Mr Vittorio Cazzetta, the man who in 80s discovered the steps of dinosaurs on Pelmetto and in Mondeval de Sora The Man of Mondeval, called Valmo, a mesolithic hunter who is now exhibited in the Museum. The location of the mesolithic burial place is the destination of a very nice excursion.
Andraz Castle, 50 min from Falcade
Only 50 min by car from Falcade towards Cortina there is the amazing Andraz Castle, a fortification dating back to 1000. Thanks to its dominating and isolated position during the history it was a strategic military fortress. Actually it has been reconstructed and inside there is a museum. Today it is the location for many cultural events as well as for weddings.
Marmolada Cable car, 40 min from Falcade
The cable car Move to the Top, starts from Malga Ciapela at 1400 m asl and takes up to the top of the Queen of the Dolomites, Marmolada, the highest point of the alpine chain, with its 3342 m. From the terrace on the top the panorama is wide and open to all the Dolomites around. From here in the clear days it is possible to see also Venice and the lagoon.
At Serauta etage it’s possible to stop and visit the interesting museum dedicated to the IWW, the Museo della Grande Guerra, the highest museum in Europe.
The top of the Queen is also the starting point for many excursions on Marmolada and its glacier, but we recommend to pay attention
Sottoguda village, 30 min from Falcade
This small alpine village in 2016 was mentioned as one of ” I borghi più belli d’Italia”. It’ is the entrance to the marvellous Serrai di Sottoguda, a natural canyon which in 2018 was destroyed by the terrible storm Vaia, but which will be reconstructed very soon.
It is pleasant to walk along the little lanes and among the ancient barns which in winter host beautiful nativity scenes.
Sottoguda is famous for its wood and wrought iron works. It is interesting to visit the local labs where visitors can see how the iron and the wood are shaped and it is possible to buy some nice souvenirs.

Valle di San Lucano, 20 min from Falcade
The valley starts from Taibon Agordino, 15 minutes by car from Falcade and it lies at the foot of Mount Agner and Pale di San Lucano. A wild and isolated valley far from traffic and mass tourism where nature is really unspoiled. It is beautiful for trekking and MTbiking.
Graffiti Village, 20 min from Falcade
The idea of the Graffiti Village, in Agordo, 20 minutes by car from Falcade, came to the local artist Dunio Piccolin in 2010. He decided to enrich the external walls of the houses of this village with some graffitos. Every year he adds some more works and now the village is a real open air museum
The Broi in Agordo – Palazzo Crotta, Museo dell’Occhiale, Chiesa arcidiaconale 20 min from Falcade
Agordo, lies ca 20 minutes by car from Falcade, it is the southern entrance to Agordino area. It is a cozy town and its centre is worth a visit. There is an impressive church and a beautiful Villa: Villa Crotta De Manzoni an ancient Venetian Villas bought in XVI by Crotta’s family who ruled the nearby mines of Valle Imperina. The Villa hosts nowadays the Museum dell’Ottica, property of Luxottica Group the multinational firm of Eyewear which has its main headquarter in Agordo.
Agordo is popular for its big market on Wednesday mornings and its Broi a wide gree park just in the centre of the town location for many events.
Passo San Pellegrino, 20 min from Falcade
You can’t miss an excursion to Passo San Pellegrino which takes only 15 minutes by car from Falcade towards North.
On Passo San Pellegrino there is the cable car Col Margherita which takes up to 2513 m asl on a wide terrace with a panoramic 360° view on the Dolomites: from Focobon, Mulaz, Pale di San Martino, Marmolada…
Passo San Pellegrino is the starting point for many excursions for trekkers, hikers or MTBikers. Not far from Passo San Pellegrino there is a spectacular wide and sunny valley: Valfreda which, for its typical mountain huts, is worth a visit.
In winter the Passo becomes busy with lively skiers who find here the paradise for skiing, both alpine as well as cross country skiing
Passo Valles, 20 min from Falcade
Passo Valles, 2032 m asl, is only 20 minutes by car from Falcade, towards North.
In winter this area is busy with the lively skiers of the Dolomiti SuperSki, or with people who love snowshoeing or the ski mountaineering
In summer this is the starting point for many trekking, hiking, MTBiking escursions.
A pleasant easy walking is towards Rifugio Laresei, a 60 minute walk which leads to a beautiful wide plane with a panoramic view on the Dolomites.
From Passo Valles it is possible to visit also Malga Valles Basso and Malga Valles Alto where you can buy the local products.
Passo Rolle, 40 min from Falcade
A 40 min drive from Falcade takes you to Passo Rolle. From here in short you’ll be in San Martino di Castrozza
Moena, 30 min from Falcade
A 30 minute drive along Passo San Pellegrino will take you to Moena an Alpine Pearl in the heart of Val di Fassa.
